Seyyed Mehdi Tabatabaeinejad told the Center for Conferences and Festivals that we should analyze 100 second movies from two points of views: the short time makes filmmakers express great creativity in the development of the subject. In addition, these films help directors communicate with the audience in a better and faster way.
He noted that during the previous festival he was the secretariat and added: everything in this festival serves the ethical goal and even the content and formic approach of the movies highly regard ethical issues.
The secretariat of the 9th festival of 100 second films said the short time of these films make them appropriate choices for showing in public places. "in the 9th festival, we distributed short films in virtual spaces, which provided us with positive feedback", he added.
He emphasized on the importance of screening short films in public areas and asked for cooperation with officials to achieve this goal.
The producer of the documentary "Last Flight" said establishment of a special TV channel for short films would be a good approach to draw more audiences. He also said: in early 2000s when Iranian TV showed many short films, the approach attracted many audiences, but after the TV reduced making such movies, the number of audiences also decreased. This shows the potential of our national media.
"Looking back to the history of short films in Iran", he said "we see a lot of our great filmmakers started their jobs by making short movies. So this festival is the factory of film production and cultural officials should pay attention to this fact."
CEO of the Center for Documentary and Experimental Cinema said holding 10 festivals for 100 second films is the sign of its success. "Each time, the festival attracted more Iranian and foreign film makers, so it is potentially able to become one of the most reputable festivals of the world", he said.
